My storage space is full, but my page isn’t that large. Where does it come from?

In most cases, the cause lies in the CMS settings or possibly the plugins used. For example, the popular “Updraft” plugin for WordPress can quickly generate several gigabytes of backup files if the settings are not optimal.

Log files can also quickly increase and unnecessarily occupy storage space if, for example, many PHP errors are produced by faulty scripts.

Ideally, you should check your website’s data via FTP. Many FTP programs offer the option to display the size of folders and subfolders. This should allow you to quickly spot unusual file volumes. Check not only the “html” folder but also the “logs” folder at the same directory level.
