How to configure Outlook 2013?

  • Start Outlook 2013.
  • Select the “File” menu item at the top left.

  • In the “Info” section, select the “+ Add Account” option

  • In the configuration menu, choose “Manual setup or additional server types”.

  • Select “POP or IMAP” as the account type.

  • In the “Your Name” field, enter the name that should appear as the sender to recipients of your emails.
  • In the “Email Address” field, enter the complete email address of the account to be configured.
  • In the “Account Type” field, choose the desired mailbox type. IMAP is recommended for easy synchronization of your device with other email clients.
  • In the “Incoming mail server” field, enter mail.routing.net.
  • In the “Outgoing mail server (SMTP)” field, enter mail.routing.net.
  • In the “User Name” field, enter the complete address of the mailbox to be retrieved.
  • In the “Password” field, enter the password of the email account to be retrieved. If you want to save the password, check the “Remember password” box. Otherwise, you can enter the password each time you connect.
  • Click on “More Settings” after finishing your entries.

  • In the “Outgoing Server” tab, select “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”.

  • Go to the “Advanced” tab and make settings regarding encryption and ports used.

The ports to configure in your email program depend on how you use your mailbox (IMAP or POP3) and the desired encryption:

  • Confirm your settings by clicking “OK” and then in the “POP and IMAP Account Settings” menu, click “Next”.
  • Outlook will now connect to the server and send a test email to the newly configured mailbox.

If the test is successful, you can finish the test by clicking the “Close” button. The account is now configured.
