How does an outgoing transfer (to another provider) work?
Domains you wish to transfer to another provider should not be canceled in advance with us, as this could result in the domain being deleted before the successful transfer. Instead, you should create an AuthInfo code for your domain, with which you can then transfer the domain.
To create the AuthInfo code, follow these steps:
- Select the “Products” menu item.
- Select the “Domains” menu item.
- In the overview, under the domain you want to transfer, select the option “Show details”. (If you manage many domains, you may first need to select “Show all” or search for the desired domain using the search function.)

- Scroll down to the “Transfer” menu item and select “Edit”.

- Set the slider to “Transfer allowed” to “On” and save. After saving, the AuthInfo code for your domain will be displayed directly in the interface.

Please note that when transferring multiple domains, a unique AuthCode must be created for each domain.
Please back up all contents of your web hosting package such as databases, emails, etc., before moving your domain(s). After the transfer, access to the data is only possible to a limited extent and may require the intervention of a paid technician.
Also note that with a domain transfer, the associated web hosting product will not be automatically terminated. Reserved web hosting products must be canceled separately after the successful transfer of the domain. Fees for a web hosting package will continue to apply, even if the included domain is transferred to another provider, unless a cancellation for the web hosting package is submitted.
For .de domains, the transfer is usually completed within a few minutes after verifying the AuthCode. For gTLDs like .com or .org, additional confirmation with ACK is required for immediate processing of the transfer. Please perform this confirmation in the client interface as follows:
- Select the “Products” menu item.
- Select the “Domains” menu item.
- Scroll down to the “Other actions” option and select “Outgoing transfers”.

- You will now see an overview of the domains for which outgoing transfers have been requested. Check the domains for which you want to confirm a transfer.
- Select the “Bulk action” option at the top right.
- You can now confirm the transfer to be carried out immediately with ACK. If you refuse with NACK at this point, the initiated transfer will be canceled and must be restarted.

If you do not confirm with ACK, the domain transfer will be automatically authorized after 5 days. It is generally recommended to start a domain transfer at least one week before the end of your current contract, otherwise the domain may be deleted (depending on the termination option chosen for the web hosting package) or extended at a cost during the term of your contract. This could incur additional costs for you.
