ACK/NACK, what does it mean?
During an incoming or outgoing transfer of a gTLD like .com, .net, .org, .biz, or .info, the administrative contact of the domain always receives an email from the registrar containing information about the initiated domain transfer, in accordance with ICANN instructions. The initiated transfer can then be either confirmed and immediately validated or canceled. If the transfer is neither actively confirmed nor canceled, it is automatically carried out after five days.
If you want to validate or cancel the transfer of a gTLD to another provider, you can do so in the hosting.fr client portal:
- Select the “Products” item in the left menu.
- In the “Products” menu, select the sub-item “Domains”.
- In the “Other options” section, choose “Outgoing transfers”.

- Check the box in front of the domain you want to transfer. You can also process multiple transfers at the same time.
- Click on “Grouped action” at the top right.

- Choose between “ACK” (“ACKnowledgment” = agreement) and “NACK” (“No ACKnowledgment” = disagreement), to validate or cancel the transfer immediately.
