I need to change the DNS records for my domain. How does it work?

A DNS zone managed by hosting.fr can be modified at any time. Here’s how to proceed:

  • Select the “Products” option in the menu on the left.
  • In the “Products” menu, select the sub-item “DNS”.
  • In the “DNS Zones” section, under the domain to be modified, select “Show details”. If you manage a large number of domains, you may need to click on “Show all” to get a complete view of your domains.

  • With the buttons at the top, you have the option to create a new entry, cancel changes and exit “Edit” mode, or (in case of many records in the DNS zone) navigate page by page.
  • You can modify existing entries using the pencil icon next to the relevant entry.

  • After creating a new entry or modifying an existing entry, first confirm the change of this entry with the check icon to the right of the record. Once all changes are made, apply them using the “Save” button.

Please note: DNS records have a defined TTL (“Time to Live”) for each record, measured in seconds. This TTL indicates how long it will take for the record update to also be communicated by the name server. With a TTL of 3600, for example, this equals one hour, and with 86400, it equals 24 hours.
