Move the mailbox via the Audriga relocation service
Introduction
This tutorial describes how to relocate your email box using the external relocation service Audriga from Audriga GmbH based in Karlsruhe. This method is recommended if your device only has a slow internet connection, if you only use a smartphone, for example, or if your box is very large. Emails are transferred by this method via the relocation service’s servers and not via your internet connection. However, this method has the disadvantage of requiring you to entrust your data to the relocation service. The service from Audriga GmbH is chargeable. Unfortunately, the relocation is carried out via European servers outside Germany.

Prerequisites
- In this tutorial, we assume that you manage your emails using the IMAP protocol.
- You will need the login credentials for your old provider’s mailbox.
- A Paypal account for paying relocation fees.
Procedure
The relocation of your email address and mailbox is divided into several steps:
- Retrieve access credentials to the old box
- Set up a temporary email transfer
- Create a new email box at hosting.fr
- Move emails and folders using the relocation service
- Set up your email client for the new box
- Move the domain (optional)
Please configure the mailbox in your email client. Please use the IMAP protocol instead of POP3. The IMAP protocol is more modern than the POP3 protocol. The latter only allows retrieving and deleting emails from the mail server. However, the IMAP protocol allows synchronized management of folders and emails both on the mail server and on the client. Since the client and mail server are automatically synchronized, it is thus possible to access the same mailbox from multiple devices. Moreover, the IMAP protocol also allows uploading emails from the computer to the server. You can therefore copy emails from your old mailbox that are already saved on your computer into the new mailbox.

Relocation with the help of the Audriga relocation service
Access the Audriga relocation service at the following address:
umzug.audriga.com/SMESwitchWebApp
Please click “Next” on the following page. You will then be prompted to provide login credentials for your email boxes:
Please select your old provider or enter its credentials. For relocation to hosting.fr, please choose the option “Add missing provider or server”.
You will then access this view, where you can enter the hostname of the new mail server:
Please enter mail.routing.net and click “Check”. A green tick should appear. Click “Save”. The page should now display as follows:
Please enter an email address to receive notifications about the migration status. You can use the address of your old box here, as you do not yet have access to the new box. Then click “Next”. You will now be prompted to provide usernames and passwords for your boxes:
Please enter the credentials in the left field. Click “Check” to test the login information. In the right field, enter the credentials for hosting.fr. Then click “Add” and “Next”.
You will then be asked whether you want to start a free trial or proceed with the relocation for the indicated fees:
Optionally, you can first start a free trial and, if successful, use the paid service. Then click “Start relocation”. The relocation begins:
Wait for the relocation to be 100% complete. Then you can set up your email client to access the box.
