My webmaster needs administrative access, should I give them my data?

For such situations, the hosting.fr client portal offers the possibility to create additional user accesses with individually assigned rights. This user then has, for example, rights to modify the web space, databases, and DNS zones, but rights concerning the deletion and creation of products or general account management can be restricted.

To create a new user, proceed as follows:

Select the “Account” item in the menu on the left.
Select the sub-item “User” in the “Account” menu.
Click on the “Add a new user” link on the right.

In the “User data” section, now enter your webmaster’s future login credentials:
- “Name” : The name that will be displayed to your webmaster after login.
- “Email” : The email address corresponding to the username for login. This can only be assigned once, so you cannot create multiple user accesses with the same login address.
- “Password” : The password for accessing the client portal. You can either set a password yourself or generate one using the key icon on the right.
- “Repeat password” : Repeat the chosen or generated password.
- “Language choice” : Here, you can select the language in which the sub-account is navigated in the client portal. Currently, German and English are available.

In the next section, you can customize the rights that will be granted to the sub-account for its management. Please note: You can only assign a user the rights that your own account possesses.
If the user is to receive all rights for a management section, check the box in front of the corresponding section. If you want to customize the rights, click on the small arrow to the right of the corresponding section.
We generally recommend always activating the “View” right for the “My Account” item so that the user does not receive an error message upon login.
All rights can be adjusted later at any time.

Finalize the setup by clicking the “Add a user” button and then communicate your login credentials to your webmaster.
