.lt Domain

.lt is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Lithuania. Following the University of Oslo's request to the Norwegian government that a Lithuanian Internet ccTLD be established, .lt was launched on June 3 1992. Domain name registration was initially limited to the academic community, state institutions and companies, with the first second-level domains—mii.lt, ktu.lt, and vu.lt—being registered in 1993. In 1994 administration of the .lt ccTLD was transferred from Oslo University to the Kaunas University of Technology.

Transfer

Once the transfer has been triggered in our system, the domain must be pushed into our system.

After a transfer, our system synchronizes the domain owner from the registry to our system. If possible, you can initiate an owner change if you want to replace the synchronized owner.

<b>After</b> the Owner has initiated the registrar change in the web interface of the registry, the Transfer has to be requested in our system. Our system will take over the domain administration from the old registrar. Transfer requests initiated in the web interface are valid for 7 days. After this period, the Owner has to initiate the registrar change again.

Owner Change

An owner change must be initiated in our system. To complete the owner change, you must complete manual steps through the registry.

In case of an owner change, the paid period is reset and the domain is immediately renewed for one year.
